The journey from forests to oceans

Green to Blue Innovation Lab

What does 'Green to Blue' mean to you?

Green-to-Blue is the seamless bridge connecting terrestrial green ecosystems to oceanic blue worlds. Students from partner schools share their reflections on sustainability, the water cycle, ecological transition, and the role of vocational education in shaping a regenerative future.

Green to Blue, for me, is a journey. It starts with the steady soil of the mountains and ends where the rivers meet the open sea. It reminds us that protecting forests, fields and water sources is the same act — they are all chapters of the same story.

In my opinion, 'Green to Blue' is a very meaningful idea for a clean future. The idea of Green to Blue reminds me that small green acts on land lead to bluer oceans. For me, Green to Blue is not only a colour transition — it is a transition of habits, of how we consume, how we build and how we share resources with nature.

'From Green to Blue' represents the seamless bridge between forest and ocean. It is an effort to recognise that ecosystems are not separate — what happens on a mountainside reaches the sea, and the choices we make in our schools ripple outward to every coastline.

For me, Green to Blue is an emotion. It is the feeling of standing in a forest and imagining the same molecule of water travelling through me, through a leaf, through a river and into the deepest part of the ocean. We are all green and blue.

STEMCycle G2B Team

Istanbul TOKİ Kayaşehir Vocational and Technical High School

For our team, STEMCycle G2B: Green to Blue Innovation Lab is a collaborative space where vocational students design, prototype and reflect on the journey from terrestrial to ocean sustainability. We work at the intersection of STEM, ecology and craft — building skills for a resilient planet.

The concept of 'From Green to Blue' represents more than a colour change. It is the ecological and digital bridge between communities — using technology to connect the forests of one country to the rivers and seas of another, so that sustainability becomes a shared language.

I.C. Calò-Deledda-Bosco, Ginosa

Greetings from Ginosa! For us, the Green-to-Blue transition is a daily landscape: the olive groves of the hills (verde) and the Ionian Sea (blu) live side by side. Our students bring this coastal-rural duality into the project — designing micro-experiments on water reuse and waste reduction inspired by both sides of the horizon.

Liceul Aurel Vlaicu Team

Liceul Teoretic „Aurel Vlaicu", Breaza (LTAV)

From the Carpathian foothills of Breaza: Green to Blue feels natural here — the forests around us are the cradle of the rivers that flow toward the Danube and the Black Sea. As co-founders of this eTwinning project alongside Türkiye, we bring a Carpathian + Black Sea perspective to the Green-to-Blue conversation.
